Essential Oils Essential oils are the fragrant and therapeutic essences distilled from herbs, flower leaves and bark. In order to get the full benefits of essential oils, it is very important to know how the plants are grown and what method of extraction is used. EO uses only "genuine" (unadulterated) and "authentic" (from the same plant species every time) essential oils which are sourced globally. All of EO's essential oils are extracted by the process of steam distillation or expression unless otherwise noted. Please be aware that there is a difference between "genuine and authentic" oils and their synthetic or "fragrance" oil counterparts - though they may smell pleasant, synthetic and fragrance oils have little or no therapeutic effect and are often mixed with petrochemicals. The are also often far less expensive. Each essential oil has unique therapeutic properties which have been documented by use throughout history. EO offers 17 different essential oils for use in blends, baths, massages and inhalations. Choose the oils that appeal to you and experience for yourself their individual characteristics. TOP |
Body Care EO's BodyOils combine unrefined nourishing base oils with fragrant and therapeutic essential oils. They use sunflower oil (which contains vitamins A, B, D, E, lecithin, and is high in unsaturated fats), hazelnut oil (containing vitamins, oleic acid and linoleic acid and is quickly absorbed), and Vitamin E (tocopherol - as an antioxidant). BodyOils are pure plant products. We highly recommend daily use of BodyOils as all over moisturizers, especially after bathing. In addition, EO's Rosemary & Lavender HandSalve and Ginger & Juniper SportsBalm are also pure plant products. EO has combined bees wax with unrefined base oils and essential oils to create skin-softening salves for dry hands and sore muscles. These products are the best way to experience the fragrant and therapeutic properties of essential oils. Lotions and creams require an emulsifier (a homogeneous mixture of two incompatible substances). An emulsifying system holds the incompatible substances together. EO uses a vegetable blend emulsifying system that is stable, effective and non irritating. Their preservative system is gentle and proven. We recommend the use of EO's BodyLotions for dry skin as they work best to lock in moisture. EO's Lemon Verbena HandCream is a luxurious, emollient formulation for moisturizing the most work worn hands. It is formulated with purified water, palm oil (coconut derived similar to olive oil), cocoa butter, calendula extract, vegetable emulsifiers, essential oils and preservatives. EO BodyPowders are cooling and refreshing. They are talc-free, corn starch based and fragranced with essential oils. TOP |
Bath Care EO's BathSoaks are blended with pure vegetable oils and essential oils with a vegetable based dispersing agent to allow the oils to combine evenly with the water. They contain Apricot Kernel 011, Sunflower 011, Vitamin E, Essential Oils and Poly Sorbate 20. There are no foaming agents (which can cause irritation) and no preservatives. BathSoaks are pure plant products - soothing and skin softening. EO's BathSalts combine Epsom Salts, known for their mineral rich and soothing properties, and essential oils. They are highly concentrated and need only two tablespoons per bath. EO's ShowerGel is formulated to preserve the potency of nourishing plant nutrients and essential oils. EO ShowerGel gently cleanses without drying the skin. Their moisturizing formula is great for everyday showering and shaving. TOP |

Base Oils Base oils are nut, seed or vegetable oils which have their own therapeutic properties. Plant oils are a concentrated source of nutrients. They are good sources of the oil-soluble vitamins such as A, D and E as well as the essential fatty acids needed by the skin to maintain its tone elasticity. Base oils should be selected depending on the desired properties.
